10 Best Yorkshire Caravan Holiday Parks - 2025
There are more than 50 holiday parks in Yorkshire, so we’ve narrowed the choice down by picking ten of the best. We looked at caravan park customer reviews, awards, onsite facilities and locations. We also did a price comparison to see which offered the best value for a family holiday.
In case you didn’t realise, Yorkshire is huge so choose your location carefully. If you want a beach holiday, start with caravan parks in East Yorkshire within reach of a resort like Scarborough or Bridlington.
If you want to see the Yorkshire Dales or Yorkshire Moors, take a look at West or North Yorkshire. If you're looking for nightlife or city breaks, try holiday parks near Leeds, York or Harrogate.
Our price comparison looked at the cheapest accommodation available for a family of four staying for one week in early August 2025.

1. Thornwick Bay near Bridlington, East Yorkshire (popular Haven park, indoor swimming pool)
**Winner: best value Yorkshire holiday park**
Haven has got four holiday parks in Yorkshire, all of which are along the East Coast near to the resorts of Bridlington and Scarborough.
Personally, I’d go for one of Haven’s newest parks - Thornwick Bay on the Flamborough Headland – which scores well with reviewers (4/5 on TripAdvisor, 4.5/5 on Google Reviews).
There is lots on site at Thornwick Bay including a decent indoor swimming pool. It’s more of a fun pool, with slides and activities so don’t expect to spend all week practicing your backstroke. Other free stuff includes the kids’ entertainment, which has moved on a bit from the knobbly knee competitions you might be expecting.
There are also loads of sports and all-weather activities that you pay a bit extra for including archery, fencing, football, painting, pottery art and junior bike riding. The NERF Training Camp, climbing wall, kayaking and paddleboarding are particularly appealing to me (I am the sort of dad who insists on joining in to 'help the kids').
It’s a 10-minute walk from the holiday park to the stony but pretty beach of Thornwick Bay. The beach at Flamborough is five minutes' drive away and was recently given the top rating possible from the Environment Agency for water quality in summer. That's good news if you want to be the only thing floating in the sea.
If you want a bucket and spade beach trip, you can drive 15-20 minute drive to Filey or Bridlington. Both of those resorts score two stars out of three for water cleanliness.
Thornwick Bay is a dog friendly holiday park.
Price comparison: £685 for a week in a Saver caravan in August 2025. That price was for a Friday arrival. It was a similar price for a Saturday arrival but it is sometimes more expensive.
You'll notice on the Haven website that you can save yourself about £120 by choosing a 'Haven Hideaway' holiday. This is a no-frills option for visitors who don't plan to use the swimming pool, entertainment or other facilities. You can still use the restaurants.

2. Primrose Valley Holiday Park, Filey, East Yorkshire (big Haven caravan park, lots of family facilities)
**Haven's 2025 Offers: Easter from £65 + Summer from £215**
Primrose Valley is another Haven holiday park that makes our top 10 Yorkshire caravan holiday parks.
It doesn’t score quite as well with reviewers as Thornwick Bay (see number 1) but it is much closer to a big stretch of beach at Filey, which may well be the clincher for sandcastle fans. You can expect to walk a couple of minutes from the closest caravans or about 15 minutes from the far end of the site.
Primrose Valley's average review score is 78% compared to 85% for Thornwick Bay. We calculated this by adding together scores on TripAdvisor and Google Reviews.
Primrose Valley is the third biggest Haven holiday park in the UK, with about 1500 caravans and lodges. You could easily spend a few days onsite (although I would suggest doing a bit of exploring if you’ve travelled for hours…).
There are two indoor swimming pools with the usual slides and flumes to make children squeal (earplugs not provided), as well as a fishing and boating lake.
Things like evening entertainment, football, playgrounds and tennis courts are free but you have to pay extra for activities like crazy golf, rope courses, the inflatable arena and NERF training camp, bungee trampolines, footgolf, pedalos, pedal go karts, kayaking, archery and fencing. Haven activity prices are better value than Center Parcs in our experience. For example, the aerial adventure at Primrose Valley is about £20 or about £40-£50 at Center Parcs Longleat Forest.
If you want a day out at a theme park, Flamingo Land is about 45 minutes away in the car. You can bring pets to Primrose Valley Holiday Park.
In 2024, Primrose Valley became the first Haven resort to get an onsite Wetherpoons pub. It also has a better-than-average choice of other places to eat, including Haven's own restaurants and big names such as Burger King and Papa Johns.
Price comparison: £845 for a 'Saver' caravan for a family of four for a week in August 2025. Again, the price was for a Friday arrival. Haven generally let you arrive on a Friday or a Monday for a week's holiday.
The basic accommodation-only option - Haven Hideaway - was only £655 but you will find that most people choose the option that allows you to use the onsite facilities. Here's our guide to whether it's worth paying the extra.

3. The Bay Filey, East Yorkshire (walk to beach, indoor swimming pool, lakeside accommodation)
**The Bay Filey Discount Code: up to 15% off via this link with code FOMO15 until 07/02/25**
The Bay Filey sits on Yorkshire's east coast, in a prime spot about 10-15 minutes walk from the beach. It has the added benefit of having lakes on the site, so some of the properties come with a lovely lakeside view and a veranda.
There's a good range of accommodation, including cottages, 'meadow houses' and 'beach houses'.
The swimming pool at The Bay Filey is indoors and it is larger than the pools at a lot of similar holiday parks. However, it's just a basic rectangle rather than a splash park or somewhere with flumes and slides.
There's an onsite restaurant/bar which is called The John Paul Jones (presumably after the naval captain rather than the Led Zeppelin bassist), as well as a gym, a beauty room where you can pay for treatments, a tennis court, boules and a playground.
Reviewers award The Bay Filey with a score of 4/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.4/5 on Google Reviews. It's run by Away Resorts, which has about 20 holiday parks around the UK.
Price: £1048 for a 'Comfort Cottage' for a week in August 2025 for a family of two adults and two children. They also had some slightly cheaper apartments. Upgrading to a lakeside property cost about £500 for the week.

4. Parkdean Resorts Cayton Bay Holiday Park near Scarborough, East Yorkshire (large coastal park with indoor swimming pool)
**Cayton Bay offers: Caravan holidays from £99**
Parkdean Resorts has got four holiday parks in Yorkshire, including two near Bridlington (Barmston Beach and Skipsea Sands), one near Scarborough (Cayton Bay) and one nearish to Hull (Withernsea Sands). Some of them were previously Park Resorts holiday parks.
So, which is the best Parkdean Resorts holiday park in Yorkshire? It rather depends what you want but here's how the four rank on customer reviews, once we add together TripAdvisor and Google Review scores:
If you want loads of activities, Cayton Bay Holiday Park is your best bet. It is one of Parkdean Resorts' 'Action Packed Parks'. Those are their 10 resorts across the UK with a better than average range of things to do - although you do pay for most of the activities.
Cayton Bay has the best swimming pool amongst the four Parkdean Resorts in Yorkshire, as it has a slide and flume. Skipsea Sands and Withernsea Sands both have a straightforward indoor swimming pool, whilst Barmston Beach only has an outdoor pool with a flume (a little optimistic in my opinion). Skipsea Sands also has a fishing lake, sauna, sports court, soft play, ten pin bowling and a restaurant.

Beach access and value for money
Let's move on to beach access and price at Parkdean's holiday parks in Yorkshire. Both are big factors when I choose a holiday park!
Barmston Beach Holiday Park is the narrow winner on beach access, as it's only a two minute walk from the edge of the park to the beach. Withernsea Sands is almost as close. It takes about five minutes to walk to the beach. Cayton Bay Holiday Park requires a walk of 10 minutes and you have to cross a road. However, it's close enough for evening strolls.
Skipsea Sands used to have easy beach access, but the road has eroded away. This means that you get a great sea view from the park, but you need to get in the car for a few minutes to visit the beach further along the coast. Bridlington Beach is 20 minutes away by car, or there are quieter beaches that are closer.
We've generally found that Skipsea Sands is the cheapest Parkdean Resorts/former Park Resorts holiday park in Yorkshire. It varies depending on when you stay and what grade of caravan you choose, but that's the general pattern.
Overall then, I would go for Cayton Bay Holiday Park if you want a busy and well equipped Parkdean holiday park in Yorkshire. Barmston Beach Holiday Park is best if you want a quiet holiday park with easy beach access. Skipsea Sands Holiday Park is good for sea views and is cheap, but it's less good for beach access and it's a little behind on reviews.
Price: £939 for a Howard caravan for a family of four for a week in August 2025 at Cayton Bay. For comparison, the cheapest caravan at Skipsea Sands was £679 for the same dates (that's £260 cheaper!).

5. South Lakeland Leisure Village, North Yorkshire (large leisure club with swimming pool, hot tubs, lakeside lodges)
South Lakeland Leisure Village offers a lot for a very reasonable price. It notably calls itself a leisure village instead of a holiday park, but the prices are comparable to much more basic caravan parks.
You’ll find it near the border between Yorkshire and the Lake District. It’s a great choice if you want to see a mix of Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire on holiday. Windermere is 25 minutes north whilst Morecombe Bay is only about 15 minutes' drive if you want a trip to the beach.
It’s not far from the M6 which makes it quick to reach from big cities. You can get to the park from the edge of Manchester in about an hour or Preston is 30 minutes away. Of course, that means it’s not quite as silent as some holiday parks, but guests give an outstanding score of 4.4/5 in reviews.
The onsite swimming pool and leisure facilities are classier than your usual holiday park pool. However, it’s worth noting that you only get free access to the leisure club with the slightly more expensive accommodation. If you go for the cheaper accommodation, you can buy leisure passes instead (from what I can tell, it adds another £90 to the price for a family for a week)
There’s a fishing lake onsite for guests to use and some of the more expensive accommodation comes with a lakeside view. The onsite restaurant is modern and is in a prime location – it scores about 4/5 from reviewers.
You can also book in for spa treatments at the resort, which isn’t something offered at many holiday parks. Some of the more expensive lodges come with hot tubs.
The park is run by Pure Leisure. They've got more than a dozen holiday parks and resorts but they describe South Lakeland Leisure Village as the ‘jewel in the crown’.
Price: £1015 for a week in a two-bedroom 'Holiday Home' at South Lakeland Leisure Village in August 2024 (prices for 2025 weren't available when we checked). This model comes with free leisure passes, so you can use the swimming pool.
The same company runs two other holiday parks on the same site called The Yealands and Borwick Lakes that also use the leisure facilities. The Yealands is made up of a number of modern lodges with funky designs. Borwick Lakes has a better range of fishing lakes, so it’s a good choice if you have an angler in your party.

6. Bowland Fell Holiday Park, North Yorkshire (indoor swimming pool, pretty rural location, pub)
Bowland Fell Holiday Park is an excellent choice for the sort of families who keep wellies in the back of their car. It gets very good reviews and offers good value accommodation.
It’s in an idyllic rural spot close to the border with Lancashire, about half an hour west of Skipton. The pretty town of Settle is about 15 minutes drive away.
The holiday park has a modestly sized indoor swimming pool and a couple of modern playgrounds. There’s a restaurant onsite as well as a 17th Century pub, which is a step up from your usual holiday park bar.
The local scenery is the main attraction with the Forest of Bowland a few minutes away. There are lots of pretty walks, dry stone walls along rolling hills, rivers to explore and so on. It’s not a good choice for huge theme parks or regular trips to the beach (Morecambe is an hour away).
Customer reviews are currently averaging 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and on Google Reviews. It’s run by a company called Park Holidays which has more than 40 holiday resorts across the UK.
Price: £729 for a Gold Plus caravan for a week in August 2025 for a family of four. They also had apartments, but they were slightly more expensive.

7. Sand le Mere Holiday Village, East Yorkshire (busy park, indoor swimming pool, coastal)
Sand Le Mere Holiday Village is worth considering if you want a busy holiday park near to traditional seaside resorts. It's within easy reach of Hull (30 minutes) or Grimsby (1 hour 15 minutes).
Customer reviews tend to be around 7/10, so not quite as good as some rival parks. However, it's next to the coast and is only 15 minutes from Withernsea. Hornsea is 30 minutes away by car. It's not easy to access the beach right next to the park due to crumbly cliffs, so most people head along the coast.
The holiday park is big and has a large leisure complex with places to eat. There's an indoor swimming pool that has a sauna and steam room as well as Total-Wipeout style inflatables and slides to climbs on. You can play a round of minigolf, climb on a playground or two, try a bit of archery and watch some evening entertainment.
There are also fishing lakes that are overlooked by some of the posher accommodation. In peak season, there are kids' clubs to keep younger visitors occupied.
Price: £799 for a two-bedroom Gold Plus caravan for a family of four in August 2025. It sleeps six people, so you could fill it up to make it more affordable. Despite the name, Gold Plus is the cheapest option.

8. Tollerton Holiday Park near York (quiet caravan park, central location for exploring)
If the thought of a noisy swimming pool or a children’s entertainer dressed as a pirate fills you with horror, then I’d consider Tollerton Holiday Park.
It doesn’t have the facilities you’ll find at the best Haven, Parkdean or Park Resorts holiday parks but it does offer peace and quiet. There are fishing lakes, if that’s your thing and it gets decent customer reviews (4.4/5 on Google Reviews).
You’ll need a car – it’s a 15 minute drive to the edge of North Yorkshire Moors National Park, or a 25 minute drive into York where popular attractions include York Minster and Yorvik Viking Centre. It’s not really one to consider for seaside trips though as it’s more than an hour to the beach at Bridlington.
Price comparison: £585 for a three-bedroom caravan for a week in August 2025, for a family of four.

9. Allerton Holiday Park, near Harrogate (country park in central location)
**Winner: cheapest Yorkshire holiday park**
Allerton Holiday Park – or Allerton Country Park as it is sometimes known – makes our Yorkshire top 10 because of its strong reviews, which are generally around 4.5 out of 5.
It’s certainly not one for families looking to spend a whole week onsite (unless your children particularly enjoy launderettes) but it’s a decent base if you don’t mind doing a bit of driving. It's also easy to access, as it's near the A1 - though not too near, you'll be relieved to hear.
Pretty Harrogate is nearby whilst you’ll be in the Yorkshire Dales or Moors in about 30 to 40 minutes. York and Leeds are also near enough for a day trip.
Beside the caravans, there are also some lodges/holiday homes. For the dates we checked they were only about £60 more than the caravans for a week. I would say that's a very worthwhile upgrade as you get a lot more space.
Price: £569 for a family of four, for a week in August 2025 in a six berth caravan.

10. Skirlington Leisure Park near Bridlington (beach access, indoor pool)
Skirlington Leisure Park in East Yorkshire ticks a lot of boxes for me and certainly deserves a place in our best Yorkshire holiday parks guide.
It's about 25 minutes' drive to busy Bridlington for a day out, but it is only a short walk to a quieter stretch of beach. It's also got lots onsite, including an indoor swimming pool, fishing lake, play area, pitch and putt, sauna, diner and mini ten pin bowling.
Skirlington is a family run park, whereas most of these well-equipped holiday parks are part of big chains like Haven or Parkdean Resorts.
The caravans have regal names like Windsor and Kensington, though I can't confirm whether or not royalty has actually stayed onsite.
Reviews are positive, generally around 4 or 4.5 out of 5.

Price comparison of Yorkshire's 10 best holiday caravan parks
OK, so our comparison was only based on one week during August 2025, but it's still worth a look. We looked for the cheapest accommodation for a family of two adults and two children, for a week's holiday in a caravan (or similar). We carried out the searches in September 2024. We didn't include optional extras or upgrades, such as bringing a pet. However, we did include Haven's optional upgrade to have access to all the facilities such as the swimming pools.
