Which is the biggest and best Parkdean Resorts Action Packed Park?
**Parkdean Resorts offers: Caravan holidays from £99**
'Action Packed Parks' are the 10 biggest and busiest Parkdean Resorts (out of a total of 66 Parkdean Resorts around the UK).
They are ideal if you want non-stop entertainment, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a site so large that you'll probably get a bit lost and a choice of places to eat.
I would suggest that you stick to Parkdean's smaller parks if your idea of holiday entertainment is a sunrise and the dawn chorus.
But which is the biggest and best of the Action Packed Parks at Parkdean Resorts?
Here's our guide to Parkdean's 10 Action Packed Parks, including advice on which is cheapest, which has the best location and which gets the best customer reviews.

What do you get at an Action Packed Park at Parkdean Resorts?
The facilities that you get at a Parkdean Resorts Action Packed Park varies, rather than there being a fixed list. You will find plenty to do at all of them, but some things are only offered at one or two parks - such as skiing at Warmwell Holiday Park.
Typically, Parkdean Resorts biggest holiday parks will have activities such as archery, 'battle blasters' (a bit like NERF) or laser tag, swimming pool activities such as aqua jets and aqua paddlers, pedal kart hire, bungee trampolines, high ropes, soft play and mini golf.
As with a lot of holiday parks, the swimming pool, playgrounds and entertainment are free but you pay extra for other things.

Which of Parkdean's Action Packed Park gets the best customer review scores?
We've noticed a curious phenomenon in the years that we've been running this blog.
As a general rule, the holiday parks that offer you the most facilities and activities get the worst reviews.
I'm exaggerating slightly, but it is certainly much more common to see glowing reviews of a holiday park that only offers a set of swings and a launderette. My theory is that most people arrive on holiday in a good mood and ready to give out a five star review. They then mark it down for anything that they don't like, such as an overcrowded swimming pool or an expensive burger. If a holiday park doesn't offer any of those things, it gets glowing reviews as it's done nothing wrong.
With that preamble, it's interesting to see how Parkdean's biggest and busiest holiday parks compare on review scores. We've converted the figures from TripAdvisor and Google Reviews into a percentage and ranked them from highest scoring to lowest:
So, Warmwell Holiday Park in Dorset is the runaway leader in our search for Parkdean Resorts' best Action Packed Park. Four others are scoring very decent scores of 80% or more.
The figures get a little skewed by the fact that TripAdvisor gives scores in half ratings (i.e. you either 3.5/5 or 4/5) whilst Google Review scores are more precise. That means you could see a holiday park gain or lose an extra 5% overnight.
Still, it's a good starting point!

Which Parkdean Resorts Action Packed Park is in the best location?
Let's look next at where the different Action Packed Parks are located.
Sensible parents will conclude that a short journey is more important than a marginally better review score.
For example, if you happen to live in Colchester in Essex then you would be better to pop 40 minutes down the road to Naze Marine Holiday Park (80% review score) rather than driving five hours to Cayton Bay Holiday Park in Yorkshire (81%) or Warmwell Holiday Park in Dorset (89%).
So, which are the most convenient Parkdean Resorts Action Packed Parks from the UK's biggest cities?
Personally, I am happy to drive an extra hour or so to get to a better holiday park if I'm staying for a week. I'm less keen to do massive great drives for a weekend trip as you just waste a huge amount of time and test everyone else's patience...

So, which are the most convenient Parkdean Resorts Action Packed Parks from the UK's biggest cities?
- From London, you've got a choice of two Action Packed Parks that are both two hours away - Naze Marine and Camber Sands. Go for Naze Marine Holiday Park in Essex (80%) if you live in East London or Camber Sands Holiday Park in East Sussex (73%) if you live in South London.
You may decide it's worth the drive to the highly rated Warmwell Holiday Park in Dorset (89%), which is three hours from Central London or a bit closer from West London. Sandford Holiday Park in Dorset (75%) is also three hours drive from London but is some way behind Warmwell on reviews so I personally wouldn't make the extra journey.
See our guide to other holiday parks near to London. - From Birmingham, the closest big Parkdean Resorts holiday park is Ty Mawr Holiday Park (81%). It's about two hours drive. Trecco Bay Holiday Park (78%) is an extra half an hour away whilst Cayton Bay Holiday Park in Yorkshire (83%) and Southview Holiday Park in Lincolnshire (81%) are both about three hours away.
- From Manchester, your shortest journey is to Ty Mawr Holiday Park (81%), which is 90 minutes away. Cayton Bay Holiday Park in Yorkshire (83%) is an extra hour's driving with a total drive of 2 hours 30 minutes. Southview Holiday Park in Lincolnshire (81%) is three hours away.
See our guide to other holiday parks near Manchester. - From Liverpool, the obvious choice is Ty Mawr Holiday Park (81%) as it's only an hour away. Southview and Cayton Bay are 3 or 3 1/2 hours away, so a much longer journey with impatient children. There are plenty of other holiday parks near Liverpool, run by Haven and other companies.
- From Glasgow, you've got a long journey and might decide to choose one of the other excellent holiday parks in Scotland. Your closest is Cayton Bay Holiday Park in Yorkshire (83%) but it's about 4 1/2 hours. I'm not sure my iPad battery would last that long with Peppa Pig playing non-stop.
- From Bristol, it's only about 1 hour 20 minutes to Trecco Bay Holiday Park in South Wales (78%). Warmwell Holiday Park (89%) and Sandford Holiday Park in Dorset (75%) are both two hours drive. Newquay Holiday Park in Cornwall (75%) is more like three hours.

Which is the cheapest Parkdean Resorts Action Packed Park?
Let's cut to the chase! You might find a wonderful holiday park in a great location, but if it's hugely expensive then it's much less appealing.
For our price comparisons, we always look at peak time prices - as it's when most of us want to go on holiday. It also shows more clearly how different parks charge different prices. You'll be able to get a much lower price if you visit on a wet weekend in November.
We searched for a week's holiday in August 2025 and found these prices:
Those prices are for a family of four, staying in a two or three bedroom caravan or lodge. We chose the cheapest accommodation available.
Based on our limited price comparison, it looks like the cheapest of these big Parkdean Resorts are Southview Holiday Park in Skegness, Camber Sands Holiday Park in East Sussex and Naze Marine Holiday Park in Essex.
Warmwell Holiday Park is unusual in that nearly of its accommodation is lodges, rather than caravans. That bumps the price up but it means you get a 20 foot wide property rather than a 12-14 foot caravan.

How far is it to the beach from Parkdean Resorts' Action Packed Parks?
Next up, we will look at proximity to beaches, as getting to a beach quickly is a big win for me at a holiday park. If it's walking distance then I am inclined to say to Mrs Guru that we should 'pop to the beach for half an hour' in the brief window between tea time and bedtime. If you need to get in a car then it's not going to happen.
I'm also something of an early riser on holiday, so I like sneaking out to the beach - which is much easier to do if I don't have to start the car.
Some of the Parkdean Resorts Action Packed Parks are right next to a beach, whilst others require a journey in the car. Here they are, ranked from closest to furthest from a beach.
So, half of the Action Packed Parks are close enough to a beach that you can walk to them. Trecco Bay Holiday Park in South Wales is particularly good as you can walk to three beaches. The beach at Naze Marine Holiday Park in Essex is not as nice as the beaches at Cayton Bay Holiday Park in Yorkshire, Camber Sands Holiday Park in East Sussex and Ty Mawr Holiday Park in North Wales in my opinion.
Those travel times are from the closest part of the park to the beach. You will need to add on another 10 minutes walk from some parks if you end up in a caravan at the far end.

Which Parkdean Resorts Action Packed Park is best for dogs?
All Parkdean Resorts allow dogs, but some are more geared up for dogs than others.
Seven of the 10 'Action Parked Parks' have got Woof Parks. These are basically dog agility courses, and are also an excuse to meet other dog owners where you can discuss dog food brands (Ed: you don't have a dog, do you?).
The seven resorts with Woof Parks are Camber Sands Holiday Park in East Sussex, Cayton Bay Holiday Park in Yorkshire, Ty Mawr Holiday Park in North Wales, Lizard Point Holiday Park in Cornwall, Newquay Holiday Park in Cornwall, Sandford Holiday Park in Dorset and Warmwell Holiday Park in Dorset.
Haven have a similar thing at some of their holiday parks called Bark Yards.

Conclusion - which of Parkdean Resorts' biggest holiday parks is best?
The winner on review scores is quite clearly Warmwell Holiday Park in Dorset. It is significantly ahead of Parkdean's other big holiday parks, with Cayton Bay Holiday Park in Yorkshire in a commendable second place.
However, Warmwell Holiday Park came last in our price comparison (perhaps unsurprisingly as its accommodation is more spacious). On price, you will probably get a much cheaper holiday at Southview Holiday Park in Skegness, Camber Sands Holiday Park in East Sussex or Naze Marine Holiday Park in Essex.
Warmwell is also not a good choice if you fancy walking to the beach, which is something I love doing when staying at a holiday park. For quick and easy access to good beaches, I would go for Trecco Bay Holiday Park in South Wales or Camber Sands Holiday Park in East Sussex. Other good choices for easy beach access are Cayton Bay Holiday Park or Ty Mawr Holiday Park in North Wales.
Of course, the deciding factor for you may well be how far you'll have to drive. Newquay Holiday Park and Lizard Point Holiday Park are both considerable drives that will test your patience from most of the UK.
If you live in North West England, then you'll have a much shorter and less stress inducing drive if you go for Ty Mawr Holiday Park in North Wales. From London, you've got a few choices but the simplest journeys will be to Camber Sands Holiday Park in East Sussex (from South London), Naze Marine Holiday Park in Essex (from East London) or Warmwell Holiday Park in Dorset (from West London).
Happy holidays!
