5 Best Holiday Parks Near Europa Park (including Center Parcs)
Europa Park is a whopper of a theme park and is the second most visited in Europe (Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris is the most popular). It incorporates the main Europa Park theme park as well as the Rulantica water park.
My visit to Europa Park wasn't particularly successful as I felt nauseous after the first ride and had to spend the rest of the day sitting under a tree. We'll gloss over that and focus on finding you the best and cheapest holiday parks near Europa Park. We'll also include a bit on the closest Center Parcs to Europa Park, although none of them are particularly close.
Day tickets to Europa Park will cost you about £35 - £50 depending how old you are and what time of year you visit. A family of four visiting for two days in August will pay about £425 in total.
Getting to Europa Park is a fairly significant drive from the UK. I would get the Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle from Folkestone, which takes 35 minutes to get to Calais. It's then a drive of about seven hours to Europa Park. So, if you lived in Birmingham (for example) you'd have about 11 hours of driving in total.
An alternative plan is to fly to from London to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport or Strasbourg Airport in about 90 minutes. It's then a drive of about an hour.
Anyway, on to our top five holiday parks near Europa Park.

1. Campingplatz Herblozheim - 15 minutes from Europa Park
Campingplatz Herblozheim may be a bit of a tongue twister but it's also an outstanding choice for visiting Europa Park.
It's a small holiday park run and scores 84% from reviewers overall (4/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.4/5 on Google Reviews). The park is run by Eurocamp, which is a massive brand across Europe.
There are about 100 holiday homes at Campingplatz Herblozheim, which are quite similar to the sort of accommodation you get at Haven and Parkdean Resorts in the UK.
The resort has three outdoor swimming pools, an onsite bar, badminton, table tennis, tennis, volleyball and a playground. There isn't an indoor swimming pool. Facilities are certainly at the more basic end of the holiday park range, but it's a decent base and is the closest to Europa Park by some distance. You may be grateful for a shorter drive after a long day in August...
In case you're wondering, Campingplatz is the German word for campsite but it's also use for holiday parks with holiday homes.
Price: £1185 for a 'Classic' three bedroom holiday home for a week in August 2025 for a family of four. You can also upgrade to Eurocamp's Comfort XL and Premium Azure properties, which are a bit more spacious. See our main guide to Eurocamp's accommodation grading system.

2. L'ile Du Rhin Campsite - 40 minutes to Europa Park
**Winner: Best Value Holiday Park Near Europa Park**
Don't be too concerned by the word 'Campsite' in the title of this holiday park. The French are like the Germans in using the word to refer to any sort of holiday park. This one has plenty of accommodation that won't fall down in a breeze.
The good news is that L'ile Du Rhin Campsite has a bar, a kids club, sports including football, basketball and badminton and it gets decent reviews of 80% (4/5 on both TripAdvisor and Google Reviews). It's a relatively small holiday park, with about 200 holiday homes and it is alongside the the River Rhine.
It's also excellent value and is one of the cheapest holiday parks you'll find within an hour of Europa Park.
So, what's the bad news? Unfortunately, it doesn't have its own swimming pool, which is relatively unusual for a holiday park in France.
That may not bother you, as you will probably have at least one visit to Rulantica, which is the water park at Europa Park. It's got about 50 slides and other things to splash about in, so you may not miss a basic swimming pool at your holiday park.
Price: £573 for a week's holiday for a family of four in August 2025. That is in a 'Comfort' property but there are also larger holiday homes called Comfort XL.

3. Campingplatz Kinzigtal - 45 minutes to Europa Park
You'll probably have gathered from the name that Kinzigtal is on the German side of the border.
The resort is a similar size to L'ile Du Rhin Campsite (i.e. not huge) but it has the big advantage of having a decent outdoor swimming pool next door to the holiday park. Campingplatz Kinzigtal also has a bar and restaurant, a playground and table tennis.
If you're flying, it's about 45 minutes drive from Strasbourg Airport.
The location is rather nice. It's in the Black Forest, which has lots of hills and nice walks. You may not be able to persuade your children to go for a walk when there's a theme park nearby, but it's worth a go.
Price: £899 for a Comfort holiday home for a week in August 2025. It's a two bedroom property and is suitable for two adults and two children. You can upgrade to slightly larger Comfort XL properties for not a lot extra.

4. Center Parc Les Trois Forêts - 1 hour 45 minutes to Europa Park
The bad news is that there isn't a Center Parcs resort that is really close to Europa Park. Center Parc Les Trois Forêts is the closest, but it's still a hefty drive of nearly two hours.
The advantage is that you get a hybrid holiday with the swimming pool and activities of Center Parcs, along with a (long and exhausting) day trip to Europa Park. The other bit of good news is that it's a bit closer to Calais than Europa Park, so you won't be doubling back on yourself if you drive.

But is Center Parc Les Trois Forêts actually any good?
As explained elsewhere on this site, Center Parcs Europe is run by a different company to Center Parcs UK. The European resort can be considerably cheaper than the UK resorts (sometimes half price!) but they are also hit-and-miss. Some are on a par with Center Parcs UK but others are much smaller or get much worse reviews.
Center Parcs Les Trois Forêts is somewhere in the middle, with an average review score of 74%. That's a little way behind the best Center Parcs in France - Le Bois Aux Daims - which scores 80%. For comparison, the UK Center Parcs score about 85% from reviewers.
Center Parcs Les Trois Forêts has a terrific range of onsite activities, with more than 100 things to do. We've found European Center Parcs charge a lot less for their activities compared to the UK resorts, so you won't bankrupt yourself on the first day. For example, we did the high ropes at Center Parcs Erperheide in Belgium for about £15 compared to about £40 at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire.
The swimming pool at Center Parcs Les Trois Forêts is highly rated and scores 84% from customers (compared to about 90% for the UK swimming pools). The pool is called the Aqua Mundo and includes four flumes as well as rapids and indoor and outdoor pools.
Most of the accommodation is cottages that are similar to the UK's woodland lodges. However, they also have some quirky alternatives including posher 'Exclusive Cottages' with lakeside views, Fairytale Kingdom cottages and Animals of the Forest cottages.
Price: £1526 for a week's holiday in August 2025 for a family of four. It's worth booking through the French version of the Center Parcs Europe website as that is usually cheaper than booking through the .eu version of the site. You get the same holiday and can translate the website with your browser. The UK is listed as Royaume-Uni on the page where you add in your address.

5. Le Ried Holiday Park, France - 35 minutes from Europa Park
Our final pick for holiday parks near to Europa Park is lagging behind a little on review scores. Le Ried averages 71%, including 3.6/5 on Google Reviews and 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor. That's not a terrible score, but it's not quite as impressive as the 84% achieved by Campingplatz Herblozheim.
So, what's it got in its favour that might convince that this is the holiday park for you?
Le Ried one of the larger holiday parks in this guide and it's also one of the closer to Europa Park. You get an indoor swimming pool, whereas most we've featured just have an outdoor pool (or no swimming pool at all).
The location is pleasant as well, with a river just next to the park. There's a bar and restaurant, a kids'club and a few sports including volleyball, basketball and table tennis.
Perhaps most importantly, it's very cheap!
Price: £591 for a week in a Classic three bedroom property for a family of four. Lots of upgrades are available, whereas some resorts just have one or two types of accommodation.

So, which is the cheapest holiday park near Europa Park?
We were surprised at the low prices of some of the holiday parks near Europa Park. A week's accommodation for less than £600 in August is exceptionally good. We only looked at August 2025 and searched in January 2025. We didn't include any upgrades and just went for the cheapest accommodation that could be booked at the time of searching.
