Which Center Parcs Europe Is Best For Wheelchair Users and Disabled Friendly Holidays?
Center Parcs Europe has wheelchair friendly accommodation at about a third of its resorts - but there's a notable difference in what you'll pay and what you get for your money.
There are four that we think should be on your shortlist if you are disabled or want more accessible accommodation:
These four all have things like wet rooms and other accessibility aids for disabled people. Some have lower kitchen counters, wider doorways, ramps for getting into the garden and so on.

Here's a waffle free summary of which we think is best from the UK:
Personally, my number one choice is Center Parcs Vossemeren in Belgium. It gets great reviews and it requires a much shorter drive from the UK than Center Parcs Les Bois Aux Daims and Center Parcs Park Bostalsee. It's usually much cheaper than Center Parcs Terhills Resort and has more of the facilities you would expect from Center Parcs. The accommodation also has a couple of extra accessible features than you get at the other three.
To get the best price, we suggest booking through the French version of the Center Parcs website (CenterParcs.fr) rather than the EU version (CenterParcs.eu). In the price comparisons that we've carried out, the French site is often £100+ cheaper for exactly the same holiday. Wheelchair friendly accommodation at Center Parcs is usually referred to as 'PMR' (personne à mobilité réduite in French), but your browser will translate it for you.
What's so good about these four Center Parcs with wheelchair accessible accommodation?
Center Parcs Terhills, Park Bostalsee, Les Bois Aux Daims and Vossemeren all get positive reviews that are comparable to Center Parcs in the UK - but tend to have much lower prices. There are lots of other Center Parcs in Europe with wheelchair friendly accommodation but the quality is mixed (that's a polite way of saying that some should be avoided). That's not really the case with Center Parcs in the UK, where all of their resorts are pretty similar. As far as I can tell, this is mostly because Center Parcs UK and Center Parcs Europe operate as two separate companies.
Which is the best of Center Parcs Terhills, Vossemeren, Les Bois Aux Daims and Park Bostalsee?
Center Parcs Terhills Resort in Belgium is the newest of the four resorts mentioned above, having opened in 2021. It also gets the best overall review score (85%). It's also closer to Calais than the other two resorts, which is good if you plan to get the 35 minute Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle from Folkestone. The drive from Calais to Center Parcs Terhills Resort takes just over three hours.
Job done then, eh?
Not quite
The snag is that Center Parcs Terhills Resort is considerably smaller than the Center Parcs that you might be used to in the UK. It's got about 250 cottages, whilst Center Parcs in the UK have about 800 woodland lodges. Terhills Resort is sold as more of a 'boutique' style Center Parcs resort rather than the full-fat Center Parcs experience.
Center Parcs Terhills Resort also tends to be more expensive than Center Parcs Vossemeren and Center Parcs Park Bostalsee. This is partly because the wheelchair accessible accommodation is a higher grade of holiday cottage. In our comparisons of Center Parcs Belgium, we found that Center Parcs Terhills was consistently the most expensive for whatever date you chose.
The facilities and range of activities of Center Parcs Terhills is also scaled down. You get about 50 activities at Center Parcs Terhills, whereas Center Parcs Park Bostalsee and Center Parcs Vossemeren have 100+.
The big no-no for me is that the swimming pool at Center Parcs Terhills Resort is on a much smaller scale and doesn't have the waterslides and rapids that some of your family may be hoping for. The 'Aqua Garden' at Center Parcs Terhills Resort scores 4/5 from reviewers compared to 4.2/5 for the Aqua Mundo at Center Parcs Vossemeren or 4.1/5 at Center Parcs Bostalsee (those are the scores from Google Reviews).

OK then, what's the best alternative if I don't want to stay at Center Parcs Terhills?
A better choice if you want a more standard-sized and lower-priced Center Parcs resort is Center Parcs Vossemeren in Belgium. It scores 83% from reviewers overall (based on TripAdvisor and Google Review scores) and is about 3 hours 30 minutes from Calais. It's an older resort, having opened in 1987 but it's been upgraded over the years.
The range of activities and the swimming pool is a bit more on the scale that you might expect from a UK Center Parcs.
Center Parcs Park Bostalsee in Germany requires a longer drive of about 5 hours 30 minutes from Calais and gets an average review score of 81%. It opened in 2013, so it's still looking quite shiny and new.
Center Parcs Les Bois Aux Daims in France is also quite new, having opened in 2015. It scores 80% from customers overall. It'll take you about six hours to drive from Calais.
Personally, I would stick with one of the Belgian resorts rather than Park Bostalsee or Les Bois Aux Daims as they are more convenient but you might spot a bargain deal. People in Belgium speak a mixture of French, Dutch and German and we found that a most of the staff speak English (we stayed at Center Parcs Erperheide).

What's the accessible accommodation like at Center Parcs Europe?
You'll be well aware that one person's idea of 'accessible' accommodation is different to another. We've had experiences in our family where 'accessible' restaurants and accommodation haven't really lived up to the billing. I would encourage you to contact Center Parcs rather than relying on 'official' photos of disabled-friendly accommodation that might be out of date.
With that disclaimer, I'll give a summary of what the advertised wheelchair friendly accommodation is like at the four Center Parcs resorts we've picked out:
With that disclaimer, I'll give a summary of what the advertised wheelchair friendly accommodation is like at the four Center Parcs resorts we've picked out:
- Center Parcs Terhills Resort has two bedroom and three bedroom wheelchair accessible accommodation. The whole resort is built around lakes so you should get a lakeside property regardless of where you stay.
All of the wheelchair friendly properties are the 'VIP' grade of accommodation, which is the poshest of the three main grades at Center Parcs Europe. See our guide for a detailed explanation of what you get with Comfort (£), Premium (££) and VIP (£££) cottages. The main facility in the wheelchair accessible accommodation is a wet room with a folding shower seat and an adapted toilet with a grab bar. It doesn't look to me as though the kitchen facilities are adapted from the standard setup.
- Center Parcs Vossemeren has two bedroom cottages that are wheelchair accessible. They are graded as 'Premium' (££) cottages, which is the mid-range in Center Parcs Europe grading system. From what I can tell, you get a wet room with a walk in shower and grab rails for the toilet, as well as a kitchen with a lowered work surface. The lounge has a ramp to make it easier to get outside. So, whilst the accommodation isn't as posh or large as Center Parcs Terhills, it would be slightly easier to cook for yourself.
- Center Parcs Park Bostalsee in Germany has three bedroom wheelchair accessible properties. They are only available in the 'Comfort' (£) grade of accommodation. That's good news in that you will get a cheaper holiday, but the accommodation is a little more basic (see our Center Parcs Europe grade comparison). From what I can tell, you get a wet room but the rest of the property is similar to the standard 'Comfort' properties.
- Center Parcs Les Bois Aux Daims is a bit confusing, as the accessible properties aren't listed on the standard booking page. Instead, you need to pick the three bedroom option for a Comfort Cottage (£), Premium Cottage (££), VIP Cottage (£££) or Tree House (££££) and then choose the wheelchair adapted option later on. If you go for the 'PMR' option you get a 'Shower seat, Wheelchair accessible terrace, Raised toilet with grab bar in bathroom, Widened bedroom door, Widened front door, Widened living room door and Parking in front of the cottage'.
Which other Center Parcs in Europe have wheelchair accessible accommodation?
There are several other Center Parcs in Europe with wheelchair friendly accommodation. I wouldn't put them top of your list, as they are a little behind on reviews. Options include:
- Center Parcs De Eemhof, Center Parcs Port Zelande and Center Parcs Park Zandvoort in the Netherlands
- Center Parcs Bispinger Heide, Center Parcs Park Hochsauerland and Center Parcs Park Allgäu in Germany.
- According to Center Parcs, 'All our French parks have cottages accessible to people with reduced mobility'. As mentioned earlier, you need to click through each property and then choose the ones that have an option to have a more accessible property.
Which Center Parcs with accessible accommodation is cheapest?
We looked for a week's holiday in August 2025 for a family of four, staying in a wheelchair accessible cottage at Center Parcs. We found the following prices at the four Center Parcs that we've featured in this guide:
So, Center Parcs Vossemeren in Belgium is the cheapest option of the ones that had availability. Honestly, I wouldn't look much further if you are visiting from the UK with a wheelchair.
- Center Parcs Vossemeren in Belgium - £1684
- Center Parcs Les Bois Aux Daims in France - £1781
- Center Parcs Terhills Resort in Belgium - £2156
- Center Parcs Park Bostalsee in Germany - Sold out (It was sold out for every date we checked, we're not sure why! You might have more luck!)
