3 Best Holiday Parks Near Thorpe Park Theme Park - 2025
Thorpe Park Resort Theme Park is one of the busiest and most popular theme parks in the UK. There are several rollercoasters and rides, including Derren Brown's Ghost Train, The Walking Dead: The Ride, Stealth and Saw: The Ride. There are also things for younger children including water slides and an Angry Birds attraction.
It's in Surrey, not far from the M25 so it's not all that easy to find somewhere cheap to stay nearby. One option is to stay onsite at Thorpe Park Resort at the puntastic Thorpe Shark Hotel.
However, if you want a bit more space, or perhaps want to spend a week exploring the various attractions around London and the Home Counties then there are a few holiday parks and caravan parks within an hour's drive.
There aren't any Haven or Parkdean caravan holiday parks nearby as they are mostly coastal, but we've picked out three holiday resorts which we think are worth a look. We compared location, price, facilities and reviews:

1. Tilford Woods Lodge Retreat, Farnham (hot tubs, 45 minutes from Thorpe Park theme park).
Tilford Woods Lodge Retreat is run by a company called Darwin Escapes, which has about 20 similarly posh lodge parks around the UK. They're generally a step up from the wobbly walls of a caravan park with decent lodges and (shock horror) full sized beds rather than the extra skinny ones you get in caravans.
Most of their resorts are near the coast, but Tilford Woods is neatly located for theme park fanatics. In fact, if you really wanted to you could spend the whole week doing a rollercoaster tour as Legoland Windsor, Paultons Park/Peppa Pig World and Chessington are all within 45 minutes' drive. I'd be ready to lie down in a darkened room after all that, but you may be made of stronger stuff than me.
There aren't many onsite facilities but the lodges at Tilford Woods get great reviews, and many of them have hot tubs so you can relieve the aches and pains of carrying a three-year-old round a theme park.
Price: £835 for a family of four staying in a Sturt Lodge for a week in August 2025.

2. Blackwood Forest Lodges, Hampshire (50 minutes to Thorpe Park, hot tubs)
These woodland lodges are certainly a leap up in price, but you get a hot tub as standard rather than as an upgrade.
They are in Blackwood Forest in Hampshire and are owned by a company called Forest Holidays, which has similarly classy resorts in 13 woodlands around the UK.
They have something of a Center Parcs vibe to them, but with much simpler facilities so you are more inclined to get offsite and explore.
You can choose from cabins that sleep between two and ten people. The largest ones are pricey but they have more of a treehouse look to them, which appeals to me (and other grown men who always dreamed of living in a treehouse).
The resort doesn't have a swimming pool, so you'll have to swim laps in your hot tub instead. On the plus side, you can hire bikes and sign up for archery lessons. There's also a playground and a restaurant on site.
If you want a second day out then Peppa Pig World and Paultons Park is 35 minutes away whilst Legoland is 50 minutes drive.
Price: £2775 for a week in a two bedroom lodge in August 2025. That price is two adults and two children and is a dog friendly lodge called a Golden Oak Lodge.

3. California Chalet and Touring Park, Wokingham (45 minutes to Thorpe Park theme park, fishing lakes)
Confusingly-named California Chalet and Touring Park is one of the cheaper places to stay near to Thorpe Park Resort theme park. It's a good choice if you have an angler in your party, although there is a risk they'll refuse to spend the day queuing if they discover that there are fishing lakes onsite.
There are two and three bedroom chalets which sleep between four and eight people. The whole place is very leafy and rural.
There isn't a lot to do onsite, but it's a good value base for getting to Thorpe Park. Legoland Windsor is also nearby, in case you fancy a double header...
Reviews average 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor.

Price comparison of 3 holiday parks near Thorpe Park Resort Theme Park
We only did one price comparison, but hopefully it will give you some idea of what you can expect to pay. We just looked for the cheapest accommodation available for a family of four for a week in early August 2025. We didn't include any optional extras and we didn't bring any pets with us. Obviously, you can get a much cheaper price at most holiday parks if you travel in the middle of the week in the depths of winter, but that doesn't really work for most of us...
